Key Areas of Responsibility
Cath is the governing body’s professional expert on finance ensuring that the CCG meets all of its statutory requirements with regard to finance.
 
She advises the governing body on the effective, efficient and economic use of its allocation, on remaining within that allocation and delivering required financial targets and duties.
 
As Chief Finance Officer she is responsible for the CCG’s compliance with its financial, accounting, auditing and information obligations and related duties and has specific responsibility for supervising the CCGs financial and accounting systems and for advising on the best possible stewardship of public money.
 
Cath has day-to-day responsibility for financial matters including strategy development, governance and management on behalf of the CCG.
Experience
Recently appointed to the role of Chief Finance Officer, Cath was previously the Deputy Director of Finance at NHS Swindon.
 
Cath has considerable experience having worked as the Head of Financial Services providing financial and management services to four PCTs and Wiltshire Health Authority.
 
Cath will ensure that the CCG has a financial strategy supporting the CCG’s commissioning strategy to enable achievement of the organisation’s objectives. This will include strong financial and performance management in-year.
