Mark Walkingshaw, Deputy Accountable Officer/Director of Commissioning Implementation

Key Areas of Responsibility
Mark is responsible for ensuring delivery of CCG commissioning strategies and plans, leading the annual contracting round and monitoring and responding to contract performance. He is also responsible for jointly commissioning services with the local authority and other partners
Mark also leads commissioning partnerships with other CCGs, clinical networks and the NHS Commissioning Board and is responsible for QIPP delivery, medicines management and managing the relationship with the Commissioning Support Unit. He deputises for the Accountable Officer.
Experience
Mark has been Locality Commissioning Director at NHS Gloucestershire since 2010. He has been aligned to the CCG for the last year and has worked closely with the CCG clinical leaders on the development of the new organisation.
 
Mark is an experienced NHS Director within both commissioning organisations and Acute Provider Trusts.
Mark is committed to ensuring the delivery of CCG commissioning strategies and plans by co-ordinating commissioning activities and provider developments. This will include building upon work to date to develop a clinical programme approach to commissioning, with a strong emphasis on the role of the CCG localities in implementing change.
