Key Areas of Responsibility
Mary works to ensure that the CCG functions effectively, efficiently and economically with the aim of improving the quality of services, the health of the local population and maintaining value for money.
 
As Accountable Officer, she makes sure that working arrangements are in line with good practice as identified through organisations such as the National Audit Office and NHS Commissioning Board.
 
Mary ensures that the culture of the organisation is aligned to the vision of the CCG, and all decisions are made in a transparent and open way with member practices and the public central to the decision making process.
Experience
Mary has been Director of Finance and Deputy CEO at NHS Gloucestershire since June 2011.
 
With 16 years’ experience in senior finance roles, Mary was responsible for achieving improvements in health care performance in challenging and complex environments.
 
Mary is an experienced commissioner, and has worked across both statutory and non-statutory organisations. She led on Acute, Mental Health, Ambulance, Voluntary Sector and Independent Sector commissioning from 2002 to 2011. This included lead roles in developing intermediate care services, an urgent care centre, community wards and elective interface services.
 
Mary is committed to ensuring improvement in quality of services and patient experience focusing on prevention and reducing inequalities.
