Ideas for Developing Neurology Services in Gloucestershire

We have some ideas about changing the way we provide you with Neurology Services. Neurology Services might help people with epilepsy or if they have injured their brain in an accident. Neurology Services also work with people who have things like Parkinson’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis. We want to tell you about our ideas. We want you to tell us what you think. Experiences of using Phlebotomy Services in Gloucestershire (blood tests)

We would like to understand patients’ experiences of having their blood taken in Gloucestershire. This will help us deliver good quality phlebotomy services for our local population. If you have used phlebotomy services in the last six months, we would appreciate you completing this survey.

We have worked and continue to work with Inclusion Gloucestershire on this project, you can read their report on this engagement so far here

Fit for the Future – a new hospital for the Forest of Dean

Approval was given to locate the new community hospital for the Forest of Dean in, or near, Cinderford by NHS Boards in August 2018. In addition a commitment was made to undertake further engagement to ensure local people are fully involved in the development of the new community hospital in the Forest of Dean and the services that it provides.

Consequently, we are asking people who live and work in the Forest of Dean, as well as others who have an interest in the future provision of services here, to help up to develop ideas for the services to be provided in the new hospital.

No decisions have been made about what services will be provided or how many beds there will be. We are keen to ensure that we build a new hospital that will meet the needs of local people now and for the future. Find out more here.

The Referral Assessment Service (RAS)

A Referral Assessment Service (RAS) has been established to handle all referrals to secondary care for patients living in England with a Welsh-registered GP.  All Welsh-registered GPs with patients who live in Gloucestershire are signed up to the RAS, ensuring timely access to English health care providers for our residents.

We are keen to hear about your experience of using the referral service.  The information that we collect will be helpful in monitoring the quality of the service and could lead to further improvements.  If you have used the Referral Assessment Service you will may have been sent a paper copy of a short survey with your appointment confirmation letter.  You can return the survey to the freepost address provided, or alternatively complete the survey on line here.
