About Medicine Unboxed – Medicine Unboxed engages healthcare professionals and the public in a provocative dialogue around medicine’s goals and challenges. While good science is important, medical care demands much more than the technical treatment of disease. It demands empathy for the individual patient, ethical consideration and genuine political debate. The arts and humanities create an environment within which such a dialogue can flourish. We are a non-profit funded through grants from the Wellcome Trust and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation.

Medicine Unboxed’s work includes the annual Medicine Unboxed conference, collaborative satellite meetings, the development of online education platform and from this year the annual Medicine Unboxed Creative Prize.
