This survey has now closed (10 July 2015). Further information about Cultural Commissioning will be available in due course.

In 2014 NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, along with partners CREATE Gloucestershire, Gloucester City Council, Tewkesbury Borough Council and Forest of Dean District Council were chosen to be one of two pilot sites in England within the Arts Council funded Cultural Commissioning Programme (see: here).

The key aims of the pilot in Gloucestershire are to:

  • support arts and cultural organisations to engage in how the public sector commissions (buys) services
  • create awareness amongst public service commissioners of the potential for arts and culture to help deliver health and wellbeing outcomes

The pilot has so far identified lots of examples of existing practice in Gloucestershire, and we suspect there are many more practitioners, projects and organisations doing great work of which we are not yet aware. In order to develop a consistent and formalised commissioning process, we first need a clear understanding of the requirements and experiences of those of you in the arts and culture sector who are working (or would like to work) in this field of practice.
