Services we commission

A number of organisations have been selected to support carers on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), bringing together a wealth of experience in the field.

Each service will support carers who are looking after people across the full range of support needs, and will provide the service to carers of adults, parent carers and young carers across the county.

Carers Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Young Carers

These organisations will provide:

Carers’ information, advice and guidance

The carers’ information, advice and guidance service will provide carers with high quality advice and information. The service will enable carers to access services available to them through signposting to other services/ support organisations where appropriate.

The service includes:

  • Carers Helpline and online information and advice
  • One to one information and advice
  • Promotion and awareness raising

Carers Emotional Support

The emotional support service will provide carers’ support both formally (eg counselling) and informally (eg support groups and peer support) in a sensitive environment. This service will ensure carers are supported to develop their emotional resilience to help them in their caring role and are supported to identify solutions to their own problems.

Carers Assessment and Carers Support Planning Service

The carers’ assessment and support planning service will help carers to plan, design and access the support services they need.

Gloucestershire Carers Alliance (Carers Voice)

Gloucestershire Carers Alliance is a strong, independent, diverse and inclusive carer-led and carer-centred organisation influencing policy and services to improve outcomes for all Carers.

The Forum enables you to meet other Carers, as well as those decision makers in statutory agencies who set policy for the services you may need. More information including an events calendar can be found in this section of the Carers Gloucestershire website.
